2027 Call for Submissions
Call for Submissions opens October 15, 2026 with the theme, “Taking Care: Communities. Collections. Colleagues.”
Your institutions are often places of care. You care for your local communities, engage in evolving collections care practices, and take the time to care for yourself and your colleagues. We want to hear about your public programs, exhibits, collections care success stories, and how you are implementing well-being into your work culture.
The CWAM Program Committee invites sessions, workshops, and posters that show how we are taking care of the communities we serve, the collections we steward, and how we take care of ourselves and each other.
The deadline for receipt of all proposals is December 18, 2026. Notifications will be made by January 22, 2027. Everyone appearing on the program must register for the annual meeting.
Graduate students and new museum professionals are particularly encouraged to attend and present. Presenters and attendees may apply for scholarships to partially defray their travel and conference costs. The application window for scholarships opens December 18th, 2026 and closes February 5, 2027.
Details
Session, poster, or workshop proposals should include a brief title, a one-paragraph description of the session or workshop, and contact information for the panel organizer.
– Sessions are 90-minutes long and most often include 3-4 people presenting. Room should be left at the end for Q&A.
– Posters are ideal for presenting a discrete project that can be communicated through photographs, charts, and brief text.
– Workshops are 2 or 3 hours long and include hands-on activities for participants.
